Volunteers from the Unicorn Thrift Shop, located on the corner of Almaden Expressway and Redmond Avenue, were honored at the 2003 Eastfield Ming Quong Children and Family Services Volunteer Recognition Event at the Saratoga Foothill Club on Oct. 9.
Marilyn Wright, Gloria Strong, Lynda Garofalo, Jan Curry and Susan Baird were recognized for their "countless hours and boundless energy" at the Almaden League of EMG.
The Unicorn Thrift Shop proceeds benefit the EMQ treatment center for severely emotionally disturbed children and their families.
The shop is operated wholly by volunteers and needs more volunteers to help out. Anyone interested can stop by the shop any day from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to fill out an application.
