Guitar Man: Almaden Valley resident Andrew Norblin has been playing guitar since he was 13 years old. In his first attempt at recording a CD, he has ended up with a winner, earning an unlikely spot in the Canadian Rockabilly Hall of Fame.

The San Jose Unified School District is considering about a dozen different approaches to cut $10 million from its budget, including one method that would reduce the middle school schedule from six periods to five.  More San Jose City Council members voted unanimously in favor of a general plan amendment that will allow 26 million-dollar Almaden Valley homes to be built in one of the only remaining rural areas of San Jose.  More Poking up out of the hill and barely distinguishable from the brush and trees that surround it is the only remaining chimney stack left over from the mining days in the Quicksilver mines.  More
