Bowler's blast is not enough for Leland girls

By Kevin Sparrer

Ashley Bowler blasted one out of the yard, but it wasn't enough for the Leland girls softball team last week against Evergreen Valley. Bowler's solo home run accounted for the only run that Leland could muster against the Cougars on April 11 when the Chargers fell 5-1.

Two days earlier, Leland defeated Pioneer 6-0, scoring all six runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Lindsey Truan added her 10th win of the season while Jessie Frediani smacked a triple and scored a run in the win. Fujihara had a hit and two RBIs, Alyssa Chaulkin smacked a single and drove in the game winning run and Rehanna Rinauro, Spindler, V. Chaulkin, Bowler and Truan each had a hit in the win.
