    Police Blotter

    Hazy Situation--Feb. 16, 11:05 p.m. A man was cited for smoking a cigarette in a bar after an officer conducted a bar check.

    Scaredy Cat-Burglar--Feb. 17, 4:59 a.m. Someone cut the lock to an enclosed aluminum storage area, causing an alarm to sound. The suspect was scared away before any property could be taken. The case was reported.

    Slashed Convertible--Feb. 18, 3:58 p.m. An unknown suspect cut the convertible top of a 1989 BMW and took a stereo and some bass speakers.

    Caught in the Act--Feb. 19, between 11 p.m. and 9 a.m. Someone entered a resident's vehicle without leaving any signs of forced entry. The suspect took an in-dash stereo and 90 compact discs. The victim observed two 26-year-old males attempting to sell the CDs at Rasputin Music on Bascom Avenue at 12:58 p.m the same day. One of the suspects revealed the whereabouts of the stolen stereo.

    Slap in the Face--Feb. 19, 6: 48 p.m. A boyfriend and girlfriend got into a fight while they were breaking up and one slapped the other. The case was sent to the district attorney.

    Wanted Man--Feb. 19, 11 p.m. Police discovered that a suspect who had been causing a disturbance had a felony warrant out for his arrest. He was wanted for burglary and driving with a suspended license and was booked.

    Turning the Tables--Feb. 20, 12:28 a.m. A female called the police to report that she needed help locating her friend, whom she suspected was driving drunk. Police discovered, however, that she was intoxicated herself and booked her on a misdemeanor.

    Hash it Out--Feb. 20, 3:30 p.m. A male was cited for having less than an ounce of marijuana in his room.

    Car Theft--Feb. 20, between 10 p.m. and 6:54 a.m. Someone smashed the driver's window of a Honda. The suspect took CDs, the face plate to a stereo and a gear shift knob.

    Odd Choice--Feb. 20, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Someone pried open the front door of a private residence. The burglar took jewelry, underwear, pictures, movies and other miscellaneous personal items.

    Surrendered--Feb. 21 3 p.m. A 24-year-old male turned himself into the police for a misdemeanor. He was wanted for driving under the influence and was booked.
