West Valley College Anniversary
Campus and community needs have changed dramatically over past 35 years
|
When West Valley College first opened its doors 35 years ago, it was a simpler time. In the 1960s, computers didn't play an important role in education--even in Silicon Valley. Students went straight from high school to college, teachers wore suits and Java was a nickname for coffee. Now computer lingo has been integrated into every student's vocabulary. And changing technology--along with changes in demographics--has dramatically altered the atmosphere and the curriculum at WVC. This year, the community college celebrates its 35th anniversary by taking a look at where it's been and how the college is keeping pace with today's busy lifestyles.
