Campbell runners shine in Great Race

It was the 25th annual Great Race from Saratoga to Los Gatos, and Campbell was well represented among the division leaders when the local runners competed in the field of nearly 2,000 competitors in the April 7 event.

Kelly Emo covered the 4 miles in 28:31 to finish 10th in the women's 30-39 age group. Georgia Riley ran 32:21 to finish seventh in the women's 50-59 age group, Barbara Pearce ran 38:20 to claim sixth in the women's 60-69 class and Leon Pearce ran 32:11 to nail 10th in the men's 60-69 division.

Former Westmont track and cross country star Lisa Renteria and current Prospect standout Danielle Zelinski also finished among the leaders.

Renteria was sixth overall in the women's division in 24:24. She was also third in the women's 19-29 age group.

Zelinski, a senior at Prospect, won the girls 14-18 title in 26:59.
