Westmont defense helps baseball victory

    Basketball camp

    Basketball Basics, a fundamentals basketball camp for boys and girls in grades five to eight, will be held at Westmont High School this summer under the direction of girls basketball coach Jerry Pettit.

    Camps are scheduled for June 28-July 9 for boys and July 12-23 for girls. Camp hours are 8 a.m.-noon for players in grades five to six, and 1-5 p.m. for players in grades seven to eight. The cost is $165.

    Roller hockey

    Roller hockey league registration is currently under way for youngsters in the 8-and-under, 10-and-under and 14-and-under divisions and for juniors in the 18-and-under division at the in-line sports hockey center.

    There are also adult beginner and intermediate leagues and women's league competition.

    Campbell Moreland Colt

    The Campbell Moreland Pony baseball league will hold Colt division signups for players ages 15-16 Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon in the clubhouse at John D. Morgan Park. Managers and coaches are also needed. For information, call 377-9007.

    Campbell Wolverines

    The Campbell Wolverines are currently accepting signups from youngsters ages 8-14 interesting in participating in a tackle football program or in becoming cheerleaders this fall. For more information, call 379-8133 or email sdriggs@msn.com.

    Football signups

    It's time to start thinking about the fall Pop Warner Football season, and youngsters ages 8-15 living in Los Gatos, Saratoga and Campbell can sign up as either football players or cheerleaders.

    Players must have been born between Aug. 1, 1983, and July 31, 1991, and 15-year-old players must be under 125 pounds.

    Coaches for football and cheerleading are also needed.

    Drop-in basketball

    Drop-in basketball for women is held each Monday, 7-10 p.m., at the Campbell Recreation Center's small gym, 1 West Campbell Ave. The cost is $3 per player. For more information, call 866-2105.
