McGlincy Update
On May 7, the Campbell City Council unanimously overturned the Campbell Planning Commission's denial of Richard Pasek's request to construct a warehouse/office building with an on-site living facility on his property at 925 S. McGlincy Lane.
Pasek intially presented his proposal to the commission on Feb. 26. He wanted to upgrade his site and enhance security. But, citing concerns with the project's design, the planning commission denied his request by a 4-1 vote.
Pasek appealed the commission's denial to the city council, and told the council he has been a Campbell business owner for more than 30 years and was trying to make improvements that would launch him into the 21st century. He also said he believed the proposed improvements would have a positive impact on the area. Numerous business owners and neighbors in the area spoke on Pasek's behalf.

Two eighth-grade students, Laurel Uenaka from Campbell Middle School and Wes Warfield from Rolling Hills Middle School, were awarded 2002 student leadership awards from the Association of California Schools Administrators for leadership and academic achievement. The students are selected from teacher nominations.
Fifteen students also received spring awards from the Santa Clara Alliance of Black Educators in recognition of their accomplishments as they transition from the fifth, eighth and twelfth grades into the next level of their education.
