    Police Blotter

    Crying Wolfschmidt--May 11, 2:30 a.m. A victim was sent to Valley Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The man, who was intoxicated, reported to police that two white males or Hispanic males hit him in the head with a baseball bat. The victim claimed the two assailants hit him because he would not give them money. It was noted however, that the man changed his story four times during the initial interviews.

    Rollerblading Mishap--May 10, 7:25 p.m. A woman was rollerblading on Hamilton Avenue and Phoenix Court Drive when she fell and broke her wrist.

    It's Soup, Stupe--May 10, 9:45 a.m. Someone reported a suspicious-looking object in the bushes on the upper level of a garage on Orchard City Drive. The Santa Clara County bomb squad opened the item, an aluminum cooking pot with duct tape around the lid. The pot contained old chicken soup.

    Red Light Cyclist--May 10, 2:20 a.m. A 36-year-old San Jose man was stopped for running a red light on his bicycle. The man was intoxicated and was booked.

    Bogus Bills--May 10. A man attempted to pass two counterfeit $50 bills at a home supply store on E. Hamilton Ave.

    Two Men in Full--May 9, 6 p.m. Two San Jose men, one 44 and the other 30, ate food and drank alcohol at a Mexican restaurant in the Pruneyard Shopping Center, but could not pay their full bill. The restaurant did not desire prosecution, but the two were "very intoxicated" and were arrested.

    Blame the Shrink--May 8, 2:02 a.m. A man drank almost a full bottle of Benadryl because he was upset he couldn't contact his psychiatrist.

    Wheels of Steel--May 9, 12:34 a.m. A 32-year-old San Jose man was reported loading tires into his truck. Upon contact, the man claimed he had permission to load the used tires from the dumpster, but couldn't confirm it. He was booked on a no-bail warrant for spouse beating and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

    Nose for Books--May 1, 3:31 p.m. A 32-year-old man was reported unconscious inside a bookstore at the PruneYard. Officers found the man completely incoherent and determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance. They also discovered three PCP cigarettes on the suspect, and booked him. A further record check revealed a felony warrant for drug possession and a $40,000 warrant for contempt of court.
