Relax, enjoy life
When I recently visited Campbell, I read an article in your paper by Cecily Barnes about the Prune Festival. This particular article was mainly referring to merchants who did not want the festival. I just want to comment as a past owner of a small business in Prairie Village, Kansas. Every year we had an art fair with music, food and booths for artists--and they still do. Yes, our business was not always the best at that time but people did come back because they saw us at the fair. If two days of slow business can make a merchant that upset than maybe they are in the wrong business. They certainly can join in by advertising and/or giving special treats on that day. It is good for the community. I say relax, life is short. Enjoy a little of what others are enjoying.

Correction
In the May 26 issue of The Campbell Reporter, it was incorrectly reported that the bartender and owner of Lil Otto's were cited for smoking in the bar. The bartender and owner were not smoking or cited for smoking; two patrons were. The Reporter apologizes for the error.
