Lockheed Martin engineer Terry Burtz didn't want just a run-of-the-mill kind of pet, so he took in Gus, a Galapagos tortoise from the San Diego Zoo. Sixteen years and six turtles later, he's raising a virtual family of endangered species in his backyard.
