Out of the hell and ashes of Sept. 11 arose a revival of American patriotism and renewed sense of community importance. It was a transformation that Paulette Tucker and Kim Jackson experienced keenly. The women also saw the upcoming anniversary of Sept. 11 as a way to continue the rekindled American spirit on a local level.
