City council OK's
special-event
fee waiver

The Campbell City Council on Jan. 2 unanimously approved special-event fee waivers for nonprofit organizations.

Fees for fundraising events such as the Campbell Chamber of Commerce's Boogie on the Bayou and Oktoberfest are 50 percent less than the regular rate. Fees for community spirit events such as the Eggstravaganza, Bunnies & Bonnets and Carol of Lights are waived 100 percent.

Deadline for voter
registration is
just around corner

The deadline to register to vote for the Feb. 5 presidential primary election is Jan. 22.

Re-registration is only required if voters have changed their names, addresses or party affiliation.

The voting by mail deadline is 5 p.m. on Jan. 29. Voting by mail is available to all voters. All completed mail ballots must be received by the Registrar's Office no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, Feb. 5.

Disaster seminar
at Home Church
through Red Cross

The Home Church and the American Red Cross are sponsoring a disaster preparation seminar on Jan. 28 at 6:45 p.m.

The class is free and covers how to prepare for a natural disaster.
