What's the buzz on Bertoldi's Busy B's? New business gives others quality time
By Emilie Crofton
Campbell resident Laura Bertoldi is the consummate busy bee. She travels throughout Santa Clara County running errands, organizing events and planning parties for individuals and businesses.
Bertoldi, 27, and her husband, Robert, 31, founded Campbell-based Busy B's, a personal concierge and errand-service company, in September 2007.
Bertoldi says the idea for the business started after observing how little free time her family, friends and everyday working individuals have for themselves.
"There's a lot of people out there that just don't have the valuable asset of time," she says. "We want to give people an opportunity to choose what to do with their free time."
Busy B's services include anything from personal shopping for groceries, gifts or flowers to running errands such as dry cleaning and going to the post office to planning parties, events and vacations.
"We do everything and anything that is legal, moral and ethical," Bertoldi says.
Jean Orr, owner of The Colour Shoppe Interiors in Saratoga, recently used Busy B's to help organize her holiday party.
The Bertoldis helped set up and clean before and after the party and served the refreshments to guests.
"They made the evening so much more relaxing for me," Orr says. "I didn't have to worry or keep a close eye on how things were going. They took charge and kept our friends and customers very happy."
Campbell Chamber of Commerce member Bob Konigsberg uses Busy B's services and is so satisfied he opened an account with them.
"I'm constantly busy driving around everywhere and I simply don't have extra time. They help me get things accomplished," he says. "I'm a happy customer and plan on continuing to be a happy customer."
There is no errand too big or too small, Bertoldi says. Even for large events such as weddings or major fundraisers, clients can come to Busy B's as the one-stop business place.
Busy B's charges an hourly fee depending on the service and has a half-hour minimum charge for any requested errand. Free 30-minute consultations are available to personalize the level of service needed.
The company is a member of the International Concierge & Errands Association and the Campbell, Los Gatos and Saratoga Chambers of Commerce.
Busy B's is available to clients throughout Santa Clara County. The Bertoldis are currently the only employees; however, their goal is to hire staff and ultimately grow into a nationwide concierge company and franchise.
"We want to simplify everyone's life," Bertoldi says. "We can help alleviate unneeded stress and allow people to spend more time with their families."
