Read us on good old paper, but find us on the web, too
At a time when many people go to the Internet for their news, Silicon Valley Community Newspapers still enjoys high readership with its old-fashioned newspapers printed on printing presses with ink and newsprint.
Still, we are not unmindful that many of our readers want to see the latest news from their community on the web. If they see smoke that looks like it's coming from across town, they want to know what's happening immediately.
And increasingly, Silicon Valley residents want to participate in community discussions online, or submit their own photos and comment on stories they've read online or in print. Others want to tap online archives.
For years, we maintained a limited online version of our papers, posting each week's content and providing information about the company.
But we never were able to provide breaking news or some of the interactive features we know you want to use.
Our news and feature stories now appear on the Mercury News website at www.mercurynews.com. You can find them by clicking on the My City navigation button.
There are links to separate Los Gatos and Saratoga news pages that contain news and school stories, features, commentary, editorial and letters to the editor. On the San Jose/Valley page, are news and feature stories from reporters at our Campbell, Sunnyvale, Cupertino and San Jose Resident papers.
The latest news from our reporters appear on the homepage or breaking news page at www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews. Use the site search to find many of our stories in the online archive.
You can still visit us at www.svcn.com to download obituary, wedding and engagement forms, to learn how to get news to us and how to contact staff and to search archives of issues posted previously.
