    Sheriff's Report

    The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

    Battery--Jan. 3, 4:30 p.m., 21400 block of Shannon Court. A juvenile struck his grandmother, who acts as his legal guardian, on the hand, resulting in bruising and swelling.

    Residential Burglary--Jan. 2, 9 a.m., 10300 block of Menhart Drive. Someone broke into a house under construction by drilling a hole in the master bedroom lock. They proceeded to take sink and light fixtures valued at $338.

    Domestic Violence, Assault with a Deadly Weapon-- Jan. 1, 1:18 a.m., 22600 block of Silver Oak. A married couple had an argument during which the man struck his wife several times on the back of the head with a closed fist. He then threw a metal lamp at her while she called 911.

    Residential Burglary--Jan. 7, 4:40 p.m., 22200 block of Bitter Oak Street. An elderly woman went out and came home to find her purse missing from her dryer.

    Stalking--Jan. 7, 10:40 a.m., 7900 block of McClellan. The victim met the suspect at a concert, and has been harassed by him ever since. She fears how far the suspect will go to secure a relationship with her.

    Residential Burglary--Jan. 7, 9 a.m., 10200 block of Scenic Boulevard. The victim had left on vacation for the holidays, and returned home to find his house had been burglarized. No monetary value has been placed on missing items yet.

    Terrorist Threats, Assault with a Deadly Weapon--Jan. 4, 9:40 p.m., 20700 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The suspect and victim are both employees of a local restaurant. The suspect threw boiling water at the victim, causing severe burns on his right arm and face, and threatened to have a friend assault him.

    Burglary--Dec. 31, 2000, 7:20 p.m., 10300 block of Westacres Drive. An unknown suspect took two rings, valued at $3,000, from a dresser on the patio.

    Residential Burglary-- Jan. 10, 7:45 a.m., 7500 block of Rainbow Drive. The victim suspects a neighbor of taking sports collectibles, valued at $400.00, from his home while he was moving.

    Battery-- Jan. 9, 7:10 p.m., 10600 block of Culbertson Avenue. The suspect hit the victim with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground, twice.

    Grand Theft-- Jan. 9, 8:30 a.m., 21900 block of Dos Palos Court. An unknown suspect(s) stole the rims and tires from a car. Value: $900.

    Grand Theft-- Jan. 9, 7:35 a.m., 21500 block of Rainbow Drive. The wheels, valued at $2,000, were stolen off of a car.

    Stolen Vehicle-- Jan. 22, 8:20 p.m., 21200 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. A car was stolen from the De Anza College parking lot.

    Auto Burglary--Jan. 22, 3 p.m., 21200 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. A stereo, amplifier and woofer box were stolen from a car in the De Anza College parking lot.

    Commercial Burglary--Jan. 20, 7 a.m., 24000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. Someone pried the door of a local business away from the frame, and stole four walkie-talkies and a laptop computer, all valued at $2,400.

    Stolen Vehicle--Jan. 19, 4 p.m., 21200 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. A car was stolen from the De Anza College parking lot.

    Residential Burglary-- Jan. 19, 2:30 p.m., 600 block of Miller Avenue. The suspect entered through a rear sliding glass door, and took a camcorder, compact discs, cash and PlayStation games, all valued at $2,200.

    Auto Burglary-- Jan. 19, 8 a.m., 20400 block of Via Paviso Avenue. Two cars were broken into, and $310 of tools was taken from one and $1,680 of stereo equipment was taken from the other.

    Residential Burglary--Jan. 18, 1 p.m., 21100 block of White Fir Court. The victim was in the process of moving, when he noticed missing items, valued at $5,250.

    Residential Burglary-- Jan. 18, 8:15 a.m. 1100 block of Elmsford Drive. The burglar entered through a garage door, took a purse, cash, a credit card, a checkbook and a glucose meter, all valued at $362.

    Stolen Vehicle--Jan. 17, 10:45 p.m., 21200 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. A car was stolen from the De Anza College parking lot.

    Burglary--Jan. 16, 8:50 a.m., 21300 block of Homestead Road. An auto shop teacher at a local high school discovered a hydraulic jack missing. In its place was a hydraulic jack stolen from the school in 1997.

    Residential Burglary-- Jan. 15, 12:10 p.m., 18900 block of Newsom Avenue. The suspect entered by breaking a rear window, took a computer system and a bicycle, a total loss of $2,260.

    Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury--Jan. 14, 4:18 p.m., 21300 block of Homestead Road. The victim and suspect were on opposing soccer teams during a game at local high school. The suspect hit the victim in the face, breaking his nose. The victim was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
