    High Tech Traffic Control

    Cupertino takes advantage of the advances with its new traffic control system.


    Traffic control, like everything else in Cupertino, has gone high-tech. From traffic control boxes that communicate with each other to pressure-activated crosswalk signals that beep, traffic engineers have begun to use advanced technologies to ease some of the burden on the city's streets. In recognition of their efforts, Cupertino's traffic department and representatives from its partners in the traffic-control industry gathered at city hall on March 21, to demonstrate the city's new system of traffic signal control, the Advanced Traffic Management System, which went into effect last fall.   More
