The Roadrunners of El Camino Hospital may not be moving at the speed of light to avoid coyotes, but they do take their clients wherever they need to go in a safe and timely manner. The Roadrunners program, which began through the volunteer auxiliary at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View in 1985, is made up of a group of 32 retired volunteers. They transport people in Santa Clara County from their residences to places such as hospitals or medical offices for appointments, grocery stores, hair salons and many other destinations.
