    Peninsula Symphony to perform at Flint Center

    The Peninsula Symphony will perform on May 12, at 8 p.m. at the Flint Center, 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino. The performance will include Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2 and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6. Tickets are $22. For more information, call 408.277.0595.

    Mark Twain Tonight

    Hal Holbrook will perform his Tony Award-winning one-man show, Mark Twain Tonight! on May 19, at 8 p.m. at the Flint Center in Cupertino. Holbrook has portrayed Mark Twain for 46 years in one of the longest running shows in theater history. Holbrook has no set show, but arranges the program as he performs.     Annual Teddy Bear Fair

    An estimated 250 teddy bears will receive free medical exams and treatment from doctors and nurses at the fourth annual Teddy Bear Fair on May 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the West Valley Presbyterian Church, 6191 Bollinger Road, Cupertino. At the Teddy Bear Hospital and Clinic, a staff of medical professionals will examine all bears brought in by their young owners, and perform necessary medical procedures to return each patient to full health. Participants who don't have a teddy bear can adopt one at the Adopt-A-Bear Agency. A Teddy Bear Museum will exhibit antique and rare bears. The Teddy Bear Fair will also include clowns, games, crafts, face-painting and more. Lunch of hot dogs, chips and soda will be available for $1. For more information, call 408.252.1365.

    California Youth Symphony

    The California Youth Symphony, conducted by Maestro Leo Eylar, will perform a spring concert on May 13, at 2:30 p.m. at the Flint Center in Cupertino. Highlights of the program will be the solo performances by three orchestra members, including flutist Vincent Yau of Cupertino. Tickets for the performance are $12 for general admission and $6 for students and seniors, and are available at the door. For tickets or more information, call 650.325.6666.

    Stamping Out Hunger

    The Letter Carriers Annual Food Drive will be held on May 12, all over Santa Clara County and the nation. To donate, place nonperishable food items by a mailbox. Letter carriers will pick up the food items and deliver them to a local community food bank or pantry. Carriers in all 50 states volunteer their time, effort and money to make the food drive a yearly success. Call 408.694.0041.

    Chronic Pain Workshops

    The Marianist Center will host a series of chronic pain workshops beginning May 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the center, 22622 Marianist Way, Cupertino. The workshop on managing chronic pain will be led by Marie Lehn, RN, service provider for Kaiser, The Arthritis Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Lehn will also teach participants skills for healing headaches, migraines, back, neck and shoulder pain. Cost is $15, advance registration required. For more information, call 408.253.6279.

    'Pajama Game' at Cupertino High

    Cupertino High School presents the musical The Pajama Game, in performances on May 11-13, at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Cupertino High School Auditorium, 10100 Finch Ave, Cupertino. Tickets for the frolicking musical are $7 for adults, $5 for students, and half-price for moms on Mother's Day. For tickets or more information, call 408.366.7300.
