Sixth-grader heads for state competition
Sam Galli takes first place at the Synopsis Silicon Valley Science and Technology Championship with his remote-controlled vehicle

Sam Galli, a sixth-grader at St. Joseph's school, rode his remote operated vehicle all the way to a blue ribbon at the country science fair. His exploration of the maneuverability of such devices so impressed the judges that they not only awarded him first prize in his division, but also gave him the opportunity to take his project to the statewide competition in Los Angeles later in May.
