    Hall of Fame grants

    The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame will distribute more than $135,000 in grants for athletic equipment to the Sunnyvale Serra Little League, the Sunnyvale Swim Club, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley (Northside, Southside, 4 Seasons and Eastside units), the Far West Wheelchair Athletic Association, the Morgan Hill Swim Club and the YMCA San Jose, Milpitas/Berryessa, Northwest and South Valley branches.

    Through its Youth Fund, the Hall of Fame has donated more than $1.8 million in grants since 1981.

    Santa Clara Baseball School

    The annual Santa Clara Baseball School returns to Santa Clara University this summer under the direction of Mike Cummins and Lou Lucas.

    Sessions for players ages 9-16 will be held on July 9-13 and July 23-27. Instruction in basic fundamentals and hitting runs 9 a.m.-noon, and the cost is $130 per player. The pitching only clinics run 1-2:30 p.m. and the cost is $75 per player.

    The school features individualized instruction in defense, base running, sliding and hitting, pitching machines, video analysis and radar guns. Each camper receivers a T-shirt, and contest winners receive Bronco caps.

    De Anza Bulldogs
