Soccer Tryouts
The De Anza Force, a boys under-12 Class 1 soccer team, has announced its tryout schedule for the upcoming fall season.
The Force is looking for fast, skillful field players, and tryouts (for boys born after Aug. 1, 1989) will be held at Hyde Middle School in Cupertino on the Aug. 21 and 23, 3:30 p.m.
The Force plays in the Abronzino Soccer League and includes players from Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Cupertino, Saratoga and San Jose.

LPGA in San Jose
The Ladies Professional Golf Association is coming to San Jose, not to play a tournament but to share knowledge of the game with other women.
The LPGA Golf Clinics for Women series will stop off at the Silver Creek Valley County Club on Sept. 10. The clinics, for golfers of all skill levels, include personalized golf instruction on on-course playing lessons that include course management tips, rules and etiquette.
Touring pro Sally Little will give an exhibition and 18 LPGA teaching pros will provide the instruction. Each participant will receive a gift package, a group photo with Little, breakfast and lunch.
The program is also a fund-raiser for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
