Soccer sign-ups for Cupertino Region 35 AYSO

The Cupertino Region 35 AYSO is currently holding sign-ups for young soccer players interested in joining the program this fall.

Sign-ups for boys and girls ages 5-6 (birthdates between Aug. 1, 1991, and Jan. 31, 1993) will be held Sept. 13, 10-11:30 a.m., on the lower field at Kennedy Junior High, 821 Bubb Road. Players must provide proof of age and be accompanied by a parent. A second sign-up session will be held on Sept. 20.

The registration fee is $25 per player, and each participant receives a team T-shirt.

Region 35 AYSO also has openings for girls ages 6-7 for the coming season.

The league currently has enough players to field seven teams but would like to field eight teams with 10-11 players per team to play in its Division 6 program, a noncompetitive, instructional division.

No standings or scores are kept, and players play on small fields with small goals to help them learn the game. Eight players are on the field at a time.
