New principal takes over at Lynbrook

Lynbrook High School has a new principal: former district coordinator Bill Richter. Richter, who began his teaching career at Fremont High School, has 19 years of experience in the classroom. His administrative experience includes serving as acting dean of students at Fremont High School and as assistant principal for Monta Vista and Homestead high schools. Richter takes over the reins from Mike Hawkes, who left Sept. 19 to assume his new role as associate superintendent. Hawkes is a 29-year veteran of the Fremont Union High School District.
