    Ultimate Kids Triathlon

    Mark Petrillo and Julia Still of Los Gatos led a talented cast of young performers at the Ultimate Kids Triathlon held Sept. 16 at De Anza Community College in Cupertino.

    Petrillo and Still each finished first in the 11-12 age division to top the large field of young athletes that took part in the competition that included swimming, biking and running events.

    Courtney Albini of Atherton and Matthew Murray of Saratoga were the 9-10 age group winners, Jacqui Levere of Menlo Park and Evan Navarro of Redwood City took the 7-8 division titles, and Linnea Mack and Aaron Gallagher, both of San Jose, were the 5-6 age class winners.

    Top Cupertino finishers were:
    Girls, 11-12--Kasha Sang, ninth.
    Girls 9-10--Monisha Dilip, 34th; Lauryn Kistner, 35th.
    Boys 9-10--Louis Prusa, 34th.
    Girls 7-8--Sallie Walecka, 12th; Medha Ranka, 34th.
    Boys 7-8--Joshua LeFevre, 19th.

    Coaches Clinics

    Dick Davey of Santa Clara University and Bret Simon of Stanford will be the featured speakers at basketball and soccer clinics for high school and youth coaches to be held Oct. 6, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Mountain View High School.

    Davey, the men's head coach for the Broncos, will head up a list of speakers for the basketball clinic that also includes Mary Hile-Nepfel of USF, Bob Burton of West Valley Community College, Peter Diepenbrock of Palo Alto High School and Rich Forslund of Riordan.

    Stanford's Simon will team with Joe Cannon of the San Jose Earthquakes as the featured speakers at the soccer clinic. The cost is $35 for each clinic. For more information, check the web site at www.ccsa.net or call 650.969.3295.
