Sheriff's Report

The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the Sheriff's Westside Substation.

Drugs--Sept. 24, 2:29 a.m., intersection of Homestead Road and De Anza Boulevard. An officer saw a man stop his car 10 feet past the crosswalk at a red light. The suspect displayed symptoms of stimulant usage and was arrested. The officer found 0.8 grams of possible methamphetamines inside the suspect's fanny pack.

Auto burglary--Sept. 26, 2:30 p.m., 20700 block of Stevens Creek Blvd. A woman locked the doors of her car but left the rear windows open about an inch and a half. When she returned after shopping, she found her cell phone, CD player and adapter were missing.

Commercial burglary--Sept. 29, 7:35 a.m., 20400 block of Silverado Ave. Between 10:45 p.m. Sunday night and 7:35 a.m. Monday morning, the front door of an office was smashed in. A laptop computer valued at approximately $2,000 was stolen, and the office was ransacked and vandalized.

Petty theft--Sept. 30, 1:40 p.m., 20300 Stevens Creek Blvd. A man set his wallet down on a counter to prepare his tea at a restaurant. He was distracted by a loud customer and left without his wallet. When he discovered he had left it, he called the restaurant to ask if it had been turned in. The manager told him no wallet was returned and that it was the second missing wallet reported at the restaurant that week.
