The Cupertino CourierRobbers steal fortune in jewels at VallcoA jewelry salesman from New Jersey was thrown into the trunk of his rental car in a parking garage at Vallco Fashion Park and had $300,000 worth of jewelry stolen from him, the man told Sheriff's deputies last week. There were no witnesses to the strong arm robbery, which the man said took place at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14. A spokesman for the Sheriff's Department said Monday that investigators have very little to go on at this point. The car was parked in a remote area of the parking garage, located on the Westside of the mall, with no other cars or people around. The man is currently out of the state, which further hampers the investigation. The 50-year-old man told deputies he had just completed a sales call in the mall when he returned to the car. He said he was leaning down to look at his address book, when two people came up behind him and placed him in the trunk of the car. The jewelry was in two green cases that look similar to carry-on luggage.
