After serving the city of Cupertino for more than 30 years, Bert Viskovich retired last month as public works director. In doing so, Viskovich says goodbye to a city that he played a primary role in creating.Viskovich had a hand in all major projects in Cupertino while acting as public works director, from the construction of the Vallco Fashion Park to the remodeling of City Hall. He now plans to move to Granite Bay to spend his retirement closer to family members, but he is saddened by leaving the city that grew from an orchard town to a high-tech haven during his watch.
