    Sheriff's Report

    The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

    Burglary (Garage)--Oct. 17, 7:15 p.m., 22000 block of Rancho Ventura. A computer delivered by UPS was signed for by a neighbor and placed in a garage because victim was on vacation. When victim returned and asked about the computer, they discovered it was missing. There were no signs of forced entry, and the garage was locked.

    Recovered Auto Theft--Oct. 17, 10:05 a.m., 21800 block of Homestead Road. The owner of a gas station reported a pickup truck had been parked in his parking lot since Oct. 1. The vehicle had no license plates, and the VIN matched a vehicle that was reported stolen in San Jose.

    Burglary--Oct. 18, 2:49 p.m., 10100 block of N. Wolfe Road. Three suspects entered a music store and while two of them distracted store personnel, one suspect pried open a display case and took a Walkman-type mini-disc player. All three fled the store and sped off in a waiting Range Rover.

    Defrauding an Innkeeper--Oct. 19, 10:40 p.m., 10000 block of N. Wolfe Road. An unknown suspect made reservations for five people at a local restaurant. The group ate $200 worth of food and drink and left without paying the bill.

    Reckless Driving--Oct. 19, 10 p.m., Tilson Avenue at Finch Avenue. Victim reported that someone in an older model white Ford Bronco tried to run her over. The victim was able to provide a partial license plate number, but the suspect is still at large.

     

    Grand Theft from Employer by Employees--Oct. 19, 8:30 a.m., 10000 block of Finch. A construction company owner discovered $10,000 worth of tools was missing. The suspects are employees who were seen leaving a job site with an air compressor.

    Burglary--Oct. 20, 10:03 p.m., 10700 block of Farallone Drive. An unknown suspect entered a residence through an unlocked bedroom window and took some jewelry.
