DeCinzo should continue telling it like he sees it
Contrary to the bad press [in the Cupertino Courier opinion pages] cartoonist Steven DeCinzo has been receiving about his depictions of our mayor. I for one enjoy them immensely. He is right on the mark as far as I know from my experiences with her and that elite group she supposedly heads, a.k.a. the city council.
On the day we were to get out the vote, I exercised this right. But due to the poor turnout, I expect the same old gang will remain in power. When they finally pave over everything, it will be too late.

Supportive people give defeat an upbeat look
President Kennedy once said that victory has a thousand fathers and defeat was an orphan. I hate to disagree with the namesake of my junior high school; however, I have experienced the complete opposite in the days following the Nov. 6 election. Thank you so much to all of you who have called or written with your best wishes, support and encouragement following the recent city council campaign.
The opportunity to run for public office in the same community where I was raised has been an experience that was unlike any I have had in my life. Thank you to the many people I met during the campaign for their interest, kindness, confidence and encouragement for this first time candidate for public office in Cupertino.
To those newly elected city council members and school board members, I offer my sincere best wishes. These leaders are all dedicated public servants, and it was a pleasure to run for office on the same ballot with them over the past several months.
I look forward to continuing to serve on the Cupertino Planning Commission and working on many of the issues I campaigned on which include improving housing opportunities for young families and working on a General Plan that will truly make Cupertino a community where we can all live, work, play and raise a family.
Christine and I thank you all for your support, friendship and for the opportunity to run for office in Cupertino.
