Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Residential Burglary—July 19, 8 a.m., Terrace Drive. A suspect entered a garage through an unlocked door and took approximately $600 from a wallet in a vehicle. The suspect is still unknown.

Petty Theft—July 18, 5 p.m., Fallen Leaf Lane. A suspect stole a cellular telephone from an unlocked vehicle. The suspect is still unknown.

Vandalism—July 18, 1:15 p.m., Bollinger Road. An unknown suspect broke a window of the exercise room at a public school. A stone was located on the floor inside the exercise room.

Commercial Burglary—July 17, 10:59 a.m., N. Wolfe Road. A suspect walked into a store, took four items from the store racks and exited the store without purchasing the items. The suspect used a pair of wire cutters to remove a security tag from a pair of tennis shoes he stole from the store. The suspect was arrested.

Vehicle Vandalism—July 16, 9:30 a.m., Finch Avenue. An unknown suspect scratched a vehicle's driver's side door several times.

Vandalism—July 15, 11:40 a.m., San Juan Road. Two individuals were in a verbal argument over payment for work done by the suspect. The victim refused to pay, and the suspect threatened to damage the victim's guesthouse. The victim informed the suspect he was going to call the police, and the suspect hung up. When the victim returned to his home, he found multiple holes in the drywall that the suspect had just installed.

Attempted Commercial Burglary—July 14, 1:12 a.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. An unknown suspect attempted to gain entry to a commercial building via the rear door. The suspect pried between the door and doorframe, trying to open the deadbolt. The suspect was unable to pry open a secondary locking mechanism and activated the alarm system.
