By Mike Barnhart
Four De Anza Cupertino Aquatics swimmers teamed up to set an age-group national record in the 200-meter medley relay recently.

Ian Yuh, Brandon Conroy, Shotaro Ban and Adam Hinshaw established the new standard (2:20.24) in the 10 and under division during the Pacific Swimming Long Course Junior Olympics held July 17 in Concord.

Yuh swam the first 50-meter leg, the backstroke. He was followed by Conroy (breaststroke), Ban (butterfly) and Hinshaw (freestyle).

DACA's B team placed second in the meet, clocking the nation's fifth fastest 10 and under time of the 200304 season. Michael Leung, Mitchell Song, A.J. Zavala and Casey Fleming combined to swim 2:30.14.

In the same meet, DACA's 200 free relay team of Conroy, Hinshaw, Ban and Fleming posted a national season best of 2:06.80. The B relay unit of Kevin Khojasteh, Yuj, Song and Zavala swam 2:14.96, the 14th-best time in the nation.
