The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Attempted Burglary (Residence)—Aug. 8, 1:02 p.m., Tamarind Court. An unknown person(s) attempted entry into a residence but still remains at large.
Burglary (Auto)—Aug. 7, 8:20 p.m., N. Wolfe Road. Between 5:30 and 6:45 p.m., a Pioneer CD/MP3 car stereo valued at $400 was stolen from a locked vehicle. The person opened the locked doors and searched the trunk of the vehicle, but nothing else was stolen. No one was apprehended, and the burglar remains at large.
Auto Burglary—Aug. 7, 4:30 p.m., N. Wolfe Road at Pruneridge Avenue. The victim left a backpack containing a laptop computer, watch and pen in the backseat of his locked vehicle. The rear window was smashed and the backpack removed. The value of the property stolen was $6,250.
Burglary (Auto)—Aug. 7, 12:00 p.m., N. Stelling Road. Property valued at $3,714 was stolen from a locked vehicle. The responsible party is still at large.
Burglary (Vehicle)—Aug. 7, 1:10 p.m., N. Stelling Road. An unknown person(s) broke the passenger window of a locked vehicle in a church parking lot, stealing the stereo and one speaker. Two latent prints were submitted to the detective's division. There are no suspects or leads.
Drunk in Public—Aug. 7, 1:30 a.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard at Highway 85. A sheriff's deputy saw an individual staggering eastbound on Stevens Creek Boulevard. The man had red watery eyes and slurred speech and smelled like alcohol. He was arrested and booked into jail without incident.
