Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.
Residential Vandalism--June 17, 6:55 p.m., Vai Avenue. Three juvenile males broke two carriage lamps valued at $300 at a residence. The juveniles also attempted to push over a portable toilet. A witness reported the juveniles fleeing toward a creek. They are at large.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance--June 16, 3:30 p.m., Calvert Avenue. A sheriff's officer stopped a bicyclist for riding on the sidewalk. The person displayed symptoms of being under the influence, admitted smoking crystal methamphetamine and was booked into the main jail.
Furnishing Alcoholic Beverage to Minors Under 21--June 15, 4:02 a.m., San Fernando Avenue. A sheriff's officer responded to a party disturbance at a residence. The person throwing the party was 19 and admitted there were people at the party under the legal drinking age of 21. The officer cited the person for serving alcohol to people under the age of 21.
Auto Burglary--June 15, 1:15 a.m., Vai Avenue. An unknown person(s) broke the front passenger window of a vehicle with a rock. The person(s) removed a stereo face plate and iPod device with a combined value of $660.
Grand Theft--June 13, 12:10 a.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. An unknown person(s) broke into a garage at a plant and removed approximately $1,000 worth of tools. The person(s) loaded the tools into a company vehicle and drove several miles before dumping the vehicle and fleeing with the tools. The person(s) responsible are at large.
