Sheriff's Report

The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.

Vandalism--June 26, 10:25 p.m., Vista Knoll Boulevard. An unknown person(s) spilled yellow paint over a person's unattended vehicle. The person(s) also spilled paint on the interior through an open window. The person(s) responsible is at large.

Possession of a Controlled Substance--June 24, 2:39 p.m., Wolfe Road. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for a moving violation. The driver had methamphetamine and a pipe on her person. She admitted to smoking methamphetamine. During an evaluation her companion fled, fell and hit his head and was then transported to a medical center, treated, then booked into the main jail. The driver was also booked into the main jail.

Possession of Marijuana--June 23, 11:15 p.m., Mary Avenue. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for failing to obey a stop sign. The driver had an expired license and less than an ounce of marijuana. The person was cited and released.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance--June 21, 8:45 p.m., N. Wolfe Road. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for a violation. The driver had a revoked license and displayed symptoms of being under the influence including nervousness and shaky hands. The officer booked the person into the main jail.

Forged Check--June 21, 12:30 p.m., Homestead Road. Two persons entered a business and attempted to pay with a fictitious check. One person grabbed a cashier by the arm and took back the check and his companion's identity card.
