Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Vandalism--Dec. 30, 6:30 p.m., Wolfe Road. An unknown person smashed the back window of a Honda Odyssey van but didn't take anything from it. The damage was estimated at $800.
Auto burglary--Dec. 30, 11:42 a.m., Valley Green Drive. Someone broke the front driver's side window of a Toyota Prius and took a GPS, worth $250, from the dash area.
Auto burglary--Dec. 30, 9:39 a.m., Valley Green Drive. The rear passenger window of a Honda SUV was found broken and a GPS, worth $150, missing from the back seat.
Vandalism--Dec. 29, 10:40 a.m., Miller Avenue. A woman reported that someone had egged her 2005 Mercedes. When she cleaned the car, the dried egg residue caused the paint to come off. The damage was estimated at $500.
Petty theft--Dec. 28, 3:04 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. A cashier was accused of ringing up several gift cards for customers and then keeping them through the month of December. The total amount of the gift cards was $125.
Vandalism--Dec. 28, 2:49 p.m., Wolfe Road. A man returned to his 2004 Audi after shopping and found a scratch mark on the driver's side door. The damage was estimated at $1,000.
Grand theft--Dec. 28, 2:05 p.m., De Anza Boulevard. A woman recovered a purse she had left at a restaurant but found her cell phone and Palm Pilot missing from it. The value of the lost items was about $500.
Soliciting without a permit--Dec. 27, 12:15 p.m., Adriana Avenue. A man solicited for magazine subscriptions and made one sale for $60. He was cited for not having a permit.
Arson--Dec. 26, 9:06 p.m., Randy Lane. An unknown person set a recycling bin on fire in front of a residence and left.
