Sheriff's Report

The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Vandalism--Jan. 27, 3 p.m., Bollinger Road. Someone tagged a wall of a school with black spray paint. The damage was estimated at $300.

Unlicensed driver--Jan. 26, 11:14 p.m., Homestead Road. A deputy stopped a vehicle for driving 45 mph in an area where the speed limit is 35 miles per hour. Then the deputy discovered the driver was an unlicensed 15-year-old who was driving his uncle's car.

Grand theft--Jan. 26, 8 p.m., Wolfe Road. A man bumped into several people while walking through a crowd in a restaurant. Then he realized his wallet was missing from his jacket pocket.

Auto burglary--Jan. 26, 5:30 p.m., Stevens Canyon Road. A man returned to his parked Toyota truck and found the driver's side window broken. His GPS, worth $180, was gone.

Grand theft--Jan. 26, 3:25 p.m., Wolfe Road. A woman forgot to lock her van in a parking lot. Her purse was stolen from the van. The purse contained $900 cash, the driver's license, a credit card and a cell phone.

Vandalism--Jan. 26, 8 a.m., Martinwood Way. Someone damaged four city trees by pushing them onto the sidewalk. Holding posts for the trees were snapped into pieces.

Commercial burglary--Jan. 26, 3:40 a.m., N. Wolfe Road. Someone forced entry into a department store, broke several jewelry display cases, and took various types of jewelry.

Wrongful control of personal data--Jan. 25, 1 p.m., McClellan Road. Someone used software to bypass a high school computer security system and obtained other people's Paypal user names and passwords to open membership accounts.

Auto theft--Jan.24, 8:05 a.m., Gardenside Lane. A man returned to where he had left his 1985 Toyota and found it missing.
