Soirée Musicale plays chamber music concert at The Terraces

The Soirée Musicale, a Bay Area chamber music group, presents a concert on Jan. 28 in the Glenn Rouse Assembly Room at The Terraces of Los Gatos.

The program features the Klarinet Kapers Quartet playing wind music by Strauss, Albeniz, Farkas and W.C. Handy, and the Luan-Wells Duo on strings, playing the music of Handel, Spohr and Fuchs. The program is part of a recital the groups have prepared for their tour of China in March.

Soirée Musicale, founded in 1975, is dedicated to promoting chamber music and offers free bimonthly concerts in various Bay Area cities. In addition performing with Soirée Musicale, these musicians are active in various Bay Area chamber ensembles and orchestras. Many also work as private teachers and participate in musical societies.

A reception follows the concert, which starts at 7:45 p.m. Anyone who attends is asked to bring a finger food, a non-alcoholic beverage or a donation. Families with children are welcome. The Terraces is located at 800 Blossom Hill Road. For more information, call 408.269.2137.
