Artist Ed Lucey gives lecture on painting

Rec Department plans a winter full of classes

Adults of all ages are invited to explore the new and continuing classes sponsored by the Los Gatos Senior Program at the Los Gatos-Saratoga Department of Community Education and Recreation. The first class begins Jan. 18; the last in late February. All are accepting registrants.

Most activities run for several weeks and include a hands-on introduction to computers; a gentle movement class that combines Qi Gong, Tai Chi and other disciplines; a mindful meditation class; an opportunity to tell and record life stories for oneself or future generations; a gentle yoga exercise program.

Beginning and basic line-dancing classes; beginning, intermediate and advanced watercolor painting workshops; a one-day mother-daughter relationship workshop; day trips to various Bay Area locales; and a healing with color series that teaches participants how to strengthen and balance their bodies and minds through meditation, breathing and color techniques.

Membership in the Los Gatos Senior Program, which includes a monthly calendar of events, notice of special classes, information about senior issues and discounts on trips, is $10 per year. Membership or senior status is not required to attend classes and workshops. For more information about activity fees or times, call 408.354.8700.
