Hillbrook School holds a meeting for its neighbors
Hillbrook School was scheduled to hold an open forum on Jan. 15 for residents of the surrounding neighborhood. School administrators want to keep neighbors informed of the events at the school and give neighbors a chance to voice their opinions and complaints. Following a suggestion from the Los Gatos Planning Commission, the school is attempting to hold these meetings on a regular basis.
The meeting will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Persimmon Building on campus on Marchmont Drive. For more information, call 408.356.6116, ext. 305 or 330.
Last arrests are made in drug bust at LGHS
The remaining three of the 22 suspects in a Los Gatos High School-related drug case were arrested the week of Jan. 7. The three juveniles, all Los Gatos High School students, were not in school during the Dec. 20 arrests and turned themselves into police after the holidays. They were charged with sales and/or possession of marijuana.
According to Los Gatos High School Principal Trudy McCulloch, the 13 students who had been arrested were either suspended or in the middle of expulsion discussion. Those who were suspended returned to school Jan. 11 and the school board will decide in the next month if expulsion is necessary for the remaining students.
Los Gatan will help carry torch to Olympics
Retired Daves Avenue School teacher Bob Tetzlaff is scheduled to participate in the Olympic torch relay on Jan. 19. Tetzlaff will collect the torch in the morning and run through the streets of Corte Madera.
Tetzlaff, a Los Gatos resident, taught at Daves Avenue for almost four decades before retiring in June. He was also a 1960 Olympian, as a bicyclist for the U.S. team. Tetzlaff's family members, students and parents of students wrote letters to the International Olympic Committee nominating Tetzlaff to be a torchbearer.
