Town seeks volunteers
The town of Los Gatos is looking for volunteers to help in several departments: The Building and Engineering Department wants an intern to assist with auto-CAD mapping, and clerical aides are needed in the town clerk's office and the Planning, Community Services and Parks, Forestry and Maintenance departments.

Nonprofit service offers low-cost furnace repair
A new nonprofit organization has formed to provide low-income households with free or discounted furnace and air-conditioner repairs.
Outreach Heating & Cooling Inc. of San Jose is designed to serve people who meet federal Housing and Urban Development guidelines for low- and very low-income individuals. The organization also takes referrals from charitable and social-service agencies. Households on PG&E's Lifeline rate program qualify for service.
Outreach was founded by Russ Donnici, Gordon Goletto and Donald Bedgood. Managing Director Donnici has worked in the heating and cooling industry for more than 25 years.

Home sellers help out local working poor
The Peninsula West Valley Association of Realtors is holding a Jan. 27 luncheon to raise funds for the Housing Industry Foundation, which offers emergency housing grants to working, low-income people at risk of homelessness.
The luncheon, set for noon at Stars restaurant in Palo Alto, will kick off the foundation's Realtor's Initiative, a grassroots fundraising effort by the association. Tickets are $35. Sponsors are being sought to cover the cost of the event.
