On a holiday trip to Vancouver, B.C., the Prowler was appalled to learn that Canadian Mickey Ds have McPizza on the menu. Our merry band of travelers managed to avoid even darkening a McDonald's doorway to check out these alleged pizza pies, opting instead to sample the cuisine at numerous pubs up and down the coast.
We did, however, stop at a fast-food restaurant that combined the menus from KFC and Taco Bell, mistakenly thinking that this was another culinary oddity unique to our neighbors to the north. Imagine this cat's surprise to discover this same combination much closer to home: The KFC on Los Gatos Boulevard now has a Taco Bell blended into it. Right now, each restaurant is keeping its own separate identity, but imagine the possibilities if they married the two: Fast-food chicken molé, anyone? Couldn't be any worse than pizza with special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed crust.
Speaking of fast-food gaffes, how long has the Yogurt Delite in downtown LG had that beautiful neon sign boasting of "expresso" within? That common misspelling is a tip-off to coffee snobs to avoid a place like the plague. How authentic can their espresso drinks be if they can't even get the name right?
The Prowler is tempted to post "found kitten" signs around town for the feline that was lying off to the side of the road on Highway 9 last week. Unlike most other animals that end up there, however, this kitty wasn't lying in state. Actually, it was never alive to begin with, being a cat of the stuffed-toy variety. Still, its owner probably misses it and, but for traffic, the Prowler would have stopped to pick it up. Hopefully, someone else did; it's sad to see a homeless toy so soon after the holidays.
