Los Gatan Charlotte Elizabeth Sorensen died of heart problems at Good Samaritan Hospital on Dec. 23. She was 68.
Born Oct. 15, 1927, in Louisville, Ky., Sorensen lived in Tennessee and Mississippi before making California her home. She received a certificate of appreciation for recruiting work done for the U.S. Army and a certificate recognizing her service to the nation and Selective Service System during World War II. The latter was presented to her during the 50th Anniversary Commemorative of World War II and was signed in Washington, D.C., in September 1993.
Sorensen was active in Los Gatos-area bridge clubs, the Happy Hoofers and the Friendly Neighbors. A member of the Los Gatos Art Association, she had some paintings displayed at a recent membership show at the Tait Avenue Museum.
Survivors include husband Wayne Sorensen of Los Gatos; daughter Marsha Leigh Flynn of Columbia, S.C.; son Michael Flynn of Winona, Miss.; grandchildren Shayne, Paige and Justin Flynn, all of Winona; and brothers Phil Cox Green of San Jose and Paul Casey Green of Memphis, Tenn.
Services have been held, with interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
