Jacqueline Tedesco
Longtime Los Gatos resident Jacqueline Gail "Jackie" Tedesco died in her home Jan. 14 of complications of cancer. She was 75.
Tedesco was born Sept. 25, 1924, in San Jose, where she lived for some 35 years before settling in Los Gatos. She was a member of the La Rinconada Niners golf group for 38 years and also belonged to the "I'm Okay, You're Okay" book group and the "Jesus as Teacher" group.
"She was fun, loving and a true friend to many. She had a very positive attitude and knew how to make people laugh," her daughter Paula recalls.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Paula and Terry Negendank of Los Gatos; and granddaughters Julia and Heidi Negendank of Los Gatos.
Memorial services have been held. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1150 S. Bascom Ave., San Jose, 95128 or to the Salvation Army.
Mildred Goldthwaite
Former Los Gatos resident Mildred Louise Goldthwaite died Jan. 11 in a Joplin, Mo., nursing home. She was 87.
Born Nov. 2, 1912, in Tonawanda, N.Y., Goldthwaite was a registered nurse who did nursing and missionary work in central Africa for 21 years. She was the first full-time missionary sent out and supported by the Los Gatos Christian Church in 1970 and became the first missionary emeritus in 1991, upon her return. She also initiated Bible correspondence lessons.
Goldthwaite was a member of the International Society of Poets and published Bless the Lord O My Soul, a collection of her poetic works. She also enjoyed playing the piano and served as pianist of the Spring River Christian Village Chapel.
Survivors include sons Roger Goldthwaite of Los Gatos, Ronald Goldthwaite of Campbell, and Richard and Arnold Goldthwaite of Joplin, Mo.; also granddaughters Jennifer and Amy Goldthwaite.
Memorial services are planned for a later date.
