    Longhorns fall in CCS semi's

Antwon Guidry had a big night, but it wasn't enough to get the Leigh boys basketball team into the Central Coast Section Division II finals.

The Longhorns dropped a 65-62 decision to Woodside in the semifinals to come up a game short of the championship round.

Guidry buried five three-pointers among his 11 field goals, but his 27 points weren't enough to carry the Longhorns on to the next round of the tournament.

Josh Kreuzer supported with 12 points, and Keith Miyakusu joined the two in double digits with 10 points. Miyakusu hit a pair of threes in the game.

Byron Taplin chipped in with six points, Kevin Rawson had four and Darren Fujikawa hit a three-pointer.

The Longhorns jumped out to a 19-16 lead in a fast-paced first quarter, and they held that three-point edge at intermission, 34-31. But Woodside outscored Leigh 17-11 in the third period to take the lead, then matched the Longhorns' 17 points in the final quarter to clinch the win.

Leigh finished the year at 21-7.
