The father-son coaching duo of Butch and Joe Cattolico will head up the list of speakers at the Football Clinic of Champions for high school and youth coaches on March 23, 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m., at Mountain View High School.

Los Gatos head coach Butch Cattolico will discuss the inside running game and Independence coach Joe Cattolico will cover defensive set recognition and adjustments.

The program also features: Mitty's Dave Brown on passing from the Wing T; Palma's Jeff Carnazzo discussing preparation and the reasons for Palma's success; Fred Barnes of Mills talking about the double wing scrum offense; Mike Machado of Valley Christian covering the option package; Pacific Grove's Buck Roggemann discussing his school's approach to special teams; Doug Morris of San Lorenzo Valley on the complete pass package; Bill Gray of Terra Nova covering the eight-man front; and Dan Navarro of Mountain View talking about play action out of different backfield sets.

Each of the 10 speakers will give a 50-minute presentation. The cost of the clinic is $35 per person or $25 per person for groups of four or more.

The clinic is geared to coaches but is open to the general public. For more information, call clinic director Ray Calcagno at 650.969.3295 or visit www.ccsa.net.
