Police Report
Brandishing a Weapon--March 13, 1:40 p.m. Santa Clara County Sheriff's officers had two males between 18 and 19 years old in custody for brandishing a weapon. The males reportedly had been shooting birds in the area of Quito Road and Austin Way. The officers planned to book the suspects and tow their vehicle, but needed Los Gatos-Monte Sereno to get information on fish and game violations. Police found that since there were no dead birds, the teenagers did not violate fish and game regulations.
Burglary--March 12, 1:02 p.m. Two men attempted to break into the second floor window of an apartment just off Carlton Avenue. According to a witness, neither of the men lived in the home. San Jose police arrived at Los Gatos-Almaden Road and Carlton, thinking the apartment was there, when it was in fact on Carlton and National avenues. By the time police got there, they were unable to locate the suspects.
Warrant Served--March 12, 1:57 a.m. A car with three people inside was stopped by police near N. Santa Cruz Avenue and Los Gatos-Saratoga Road. A woman in the car had a $10,000 warrant for her arrest from Monrovia police for being under the influence of drugs. She was arrested. Another passenger, a man, was arrested for possessing a controlled substance and opium paraphernalia. The third passenger was released.
Burglary--March 11, 2:35 a.m. An alarm at a Los Gatos Boulevard business showed motion to the perimeter and interior of the building. When police arrived, they found that the window in front had been smashed. No one was taken into custody, but an employee of the business was suspected.
False report--March 10, 3:56 p.m. Someone reported that a group of people was holding a birthday party at Oak Meadow Park, smoking pot and drinking. When police talked to the group, however, they realized that everyone in the party was over 21 years old; they were eating and drinking, but didn't have marijuana. No report was taken.
Stray Animal--March 10, 4:23 p.m. A woman said she frequently walked on a path near Bicknell Road. One of the homes near the path had a large dog that roamed loose in the front yard. According to the woman, the dog chased her every time, and when she tried talking to the dog owner, she was told to go away. Police confronted the owner, who said the dog had an electric collar that prohibited it from leaving the yard. No report was taken.
Burglary--March 9, 10:40 p.m. A couple returned to their Tait Avenue home and found that it had been burglarized. The couple wasn't sure exactly what had been taken, but were missing at least one pillowcase which had been filled with jewelry and money.
