    Open house for Vasona project

There will be two informational open houses on the Valley Transit Authority's (VTA) plan for the Vasona Corridor Light Rail Project.

Open houses will be held on March 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the San Jose Fire Training Center in San Jose and April 10, at the same time in the Campbell Community Center, building Q, room 80. The public will have a chance to question VTA staff one-on-one, regarding the planned 6.8-mile light rail extension.

    Contact the VTA at 408.321.2345.

    Special downtown parking meetings

As part of the ongoing parking solution discussion between downtown residents, business owners and the town, the Parking Commission will hold two more special meetings.

The meetings will focus on parking issues facing downtown, the Edelen and Almond Grove neighborhoods. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

Both meeting will be held at the Town Council Chambers at 7:30 p.m. Meeting dates are March 23 and 28.

    Town seeks new commissioner

Residents interested in sitting on the Los Gatos Planning Commission can apply for the vacancy created by commissioner Sandy Decker's resignation.

Applicants must be willing to commit many hours of their time. The Planning Commission reviews building proposals, zone changes, remodels and various other projects using the town's planning documents.

The deadline for applying is April 21, and interviews will be held at the Town Council's May 1 meeting. Call the town clerk's office at 408.354.6834 for more information.
