An Avalanche of Music
Woodhaven West, the nonprofit community concerts sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of Los Gatos, presents a double-header on April 8, at 7:30 p.m. The first half of the evening features Dale and Marilyn Barcellos, with special guest Richard Schmidt, performing what they describe as original music, with a drop of Cape Breton accordion, a dash of Grismanesque mandolin and a pinch of Linda Ronstadt, accompanied by piano, pedal steel and three-part harmonies. The second half features the Barcellos with The Mighty Avalanche Choir, whose repertoire features five-part a cappella harmonies, accompanied by mandolin, guitar, Dobro, banjo, bass, piano and pedal steel. The church is at 19 High School Court. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and youth and $4 for children under 12. Refreshments will be served. For information, call 408.370.3037.
