Obituaries
Cornelia Resnick
Cornelia "Connie" E. Resnick died of cancer March 13 in her Los Gatos home. She was 73.
Resnick was born March 20, 1925, in Kelseyville, Calif. She served in the Korean conflict as a nurse in the U.S. Army MASH Unit and finished her tour of duty as a captain. She moved to Los Gatos in 1962.
According to her friends, Resnick was known to many neighbors as "the flower garden lady" because of the beautiful seasonal floral displays she grew at her home, which overlooked Vasona Lake. She also enjoyed growing African violets.
Resnick was predeceased by husband William V. Resnick Jr. and her two sons, William and Michael. She is survived by stepdaughters Sharon and Carole Resnick, both of Alaska; brother Francis G. Newton of Diamond Bar and Herbert W. Newton of Montclair; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services have been held. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley or the San Jose Family Shelter.
Marjorie Head
Monte Sereno resident Marjorie Head died March 10 at home at the age of 86.
She was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Dartmouth, England and came to Monte Sereno some 20 years ago to live with her daughter's family. Head was an active member of the Los Gatos Senior Center and the Happy Hoofers walking group. She was preceded in death by husband William Head.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Mary and Jim Allkins of Monte Sereno; and granddaughters Catharine Horton of Los Gatos and Joanne Allkins of Monte Sereno.
Memorial services have been held. Donations may be made to Mid-Peninsula Hospice, 65 El Camino Real, Menlo Park, 94025.
